Helping Veterans and First Responders with PTSD
New Life K9s Mission: Saving lives through the healing power of the Human-Canine Bond.
At New Life K9s our goal is to empower those and others who have gone through traumatic experiences. We know Veterans who have service dogs and they credit those dogs for saving their lives. These dogs offer safe companionship without judgment or expectations. Their mere presence can remind someone with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that they are safe.
The dogs help veterans and first responders feel more secure when going into public and developing human relationships. The list of skills that a dog can be taught to perform to assist with daily needs is limitless. For example, a dog can remind someone to take medication at a consistent time, or wake them up from a nightmare. The dog can even turn on the light if needed. If you or someone you know, would benefit from a service dog, encourage them to contact us or donate to Mission Cars.
